MINUTES OF MEETING
APRIL 15, 1998
The First Night Committee held their regular Monthly meeting
Wednesday April 15, in the Conference Room at the City Hall
of Atlantic Beach.
Present were: Nancy DeCandis, Cindy Grossberg, Mary Jenkins,
Pam Bushnell, Ree Theofan, Tami Deitchman, Susan Grube,
Chinta Perera, Melinda Gibbs, Gary Seabrook and Bonnie
Turban.
Nancy DeCandis called the meeting to order,at. 7:35p.m..
Nancy stated she can not continue as Chairperson, she has to
step down and we need someone to fill this position by the
next meeting.
Gary offered the use of his vessel "Old Black Beard", for
theme cruise up the river for fundraising. The Board could
charge a fee of $50 to $100 per couple, vessels holds up to
400 people. He also stated it would be a good source of
income for fundraising for the First Night Event.
Cindy offered to help Gary with planning the event on the
vessel. Ree states she would like to see the vessel. Gary
welcome Cindy's assistant and gave the Board his phone number
(241-9969) to call and ask for Thresea if he was not their.
Nancy reported the contracts need to go out, but before they
can money needs to be in place.
Gary states he is willing to be on a committee. He explained
his painting and lie could have it on board the vessel during
the event and can have a unveiling of this.
Mary reported on comments and suggestions received from last
,years performance at Children's Interactive Play Market.
Programs schedule
It Do not place people and Artist in halls near .Restrooms
Schedule story telling according to age group.
Great event, Volunteer's were very accommodating, but a
little disorganized in the beginning. But once
performance started they were right on top of things.
Bonnie was asked to follow-up with Timmy on Time Union
billing.
Committee discussed position of Chairperson being filled and
Cindy Grossberg states that she would take the position as
Chairperson as long as she get help when needed.
