A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC
BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT
FOR A U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT — MITIGATION FOR
RESILIENCY PLANNING AND ASSURANCES FOR ALL MATTERS PERTAINING
TO SUCH ASSISTANCE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC
BEACH
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach was awarded a Community Development Block Grant
— Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) and will receive grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD) in the amount of $86,950 for resiliency planning; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach may delegate the authority to
sign grant agreements; and
WHEREAS, when the City is selected for funding, the City must execute a grant agreement,
and only then are grant requirements binding; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity is administering the CDBG-MIT
Grant Program under HUD, which is providing federal grants for disaster mitigation projects in areas
impacted by presidentially declared disasters in 2016 and 2017; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
authorizes:
Section 1. The City Manager to execute the grant agreement and assurances for all matters
pertaining to such federal assistance for and on behalf of the City of Atlantic Beach
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach, this 14th day of
June, 2021.
