J. F. WAGGONER, JR. Members of' the Board '"illis, Hinckley, Cody, and Bitzer CITY MANAGER pe rsonally inspected your premises and your construction to date ; Mr. cels ori of the Board was the only member who ADELE S. GRACE did not inspect your property. CITY CLERK TREASURER It was the unanimous de s c i si on of ,the board that in this J. L. RUSSELL instance you should be asked to conform with the present CHIEF OF POLICE City regulation and abide with the 7+6" setback from the property line to the proposed carport. , s you know, this board has no power to change any of the laws or regulations of the City, but can only suggest exceptions when and where it is felt that there is extreme hardship in- volved, or where improvement will benefit the City in its plan to continue to beautify the general structure of the city. It was suggested by one of the members of the Board, that , if you feel that you have progressed so far with your construction that it would be too expensive for you to move your structure the additional 3'6" that will meet the requirements of' the City, then it might be adviseable for you to purchase the 316" needed from Mr. Sperry and continue on with your construction where it iF now located . You probaT'ly have your own reasons, but it was also questioned why you did not attatch your carport to your house which is permissable under City regulations. "'e trust that you will find a solution to your problem, and regret that we could not recommend in favor of your appeal. For t Boird4, _ // ''G ,mss --- W. Hen Hige gigr! r. Keith 316 8th Street Atlantic Beach, Florida Dear Mr. Keith: At the regular meeting of the City Commission, on January 11, 1960, I submitted your request to rebuild the existing carport in its present location to the City Commission. After a lengthy discussion it was decided by the Commissioners that the side line setback shall be 1 feet by 6 inches. I regret very much that I was unable to get approval for the present location. I would suggest that you prepare plans for this car- port and submit same for a building permit before proceeding with your work. If I can help in any way call on me. Yours very truly, J.F.
