These standards are set forth in the International Property Maintenance Code and the Florida Building Code and were adopted as part of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances in Chapter 6,Article II, Section 6-16. A code enforcement inspection at 1509 JORDAN ST was conducted on 7/278/2021 . The City of Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found your property to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances: 1. NATURE OF VIOLATION:A white school bus in parked on the right of way next to the home along Donner Road.This bus has been parked there for over 4 hours in violation of code. VIOLATION CODE: Sec.21-20.-Parking limitations.(c)No person shall stop,stand,or park a recreational vehicle,camper,bus,flatbed truck,trailer or commercial vehicle upon any right-of-way, except for the purpose of loading or unloading,for more than four(4)hours,except when authorized by the city manager or their designee provided that the vehicle does not obstruct traffic as described in section 21-18. ACTION TO CORRECT: Please remove the white bus from the right of way within 5 days of receipt of this notice. 2. NATURE OF VIOLATION:A white box trailer with no valid license plate is parked on the side of the home. In accordance with code,no unlicensed motor vehicle shall be kept on any premises. VIOLATION CODE: IPMC Sec.302.8 Motor Vehicles"No inoperative or unlicensed motor vehicle shall be parked or kept or stored on any premises,and no vehicle shall at any time be in a state of disrepair,major disassembly or in the process or being stripped or dismantled". According to Municipal code section 21-2.Motor vehicle shall mean any self-propelled vehicle and registered attachments such'as trailers designed primarily for transportation of persons or goods along a public roadway. ACTION TO CORRECT: Please remove the trailer or obtain a valid registration within 5 days of receipt of this notice. 3. NATURE OF VIOLATION:There is a pile of wood,debris and other miscellaneous items stacked up alongside the side and rear of the home. VIOLATION CODE: Sec.24-173.Neighborhood preservation and property maintenance standards.(b) Appropriate maintenance and upkeep.All areas of a lot and structures that are visible from the street or a neighboring property shall be maintained in an acceptable manner,which shall be defined by the following characteristics: 1.Lots are maintained free from litter,trash,debris,discarded belongings, automotive parts,old tires,construction materials,and broken and abandoned items. ACTION TO CORRECT: Please remove the lumber,construction material,metal,blue tarp and other discarded items from view of the street within 5 days of receipt of this notice. Failure to correct the violation by the required date may result in this case being referred to the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate resulting in fines up to two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day.
