00 10 00 GENERAL NOTESWhere unspecified, all components, finishes and appurtenances shall be provided and installed in kind tothe original construction.Contractor is responsible for the protection of the public and all construction personnel and must complywith all applicable OSHA safety requirements throughout the duration of the work.Contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits to complete the scope of work.The construction documents represent the finished structure. They do not indicate the method ofconstruction. The contractor shall provide all measures necessary to protect the structure duringconstruction. Such measures shall include, but not be limited to bracing or shoring for loads due toconstruction equipment, etc.The engineer of record shall not be responsible for the contractor's means, methods, techniques, sequencesfor procedure of construction, or the safety precautions and the programs incident thereto (nor shallobservation visits to the site include inspection of these items).Where reference is made to various test standards for materials, such standards shall be the latest editionand/or addenda. Any engineering design, provided by others and submitted for review, shall bear the sealof a registered engineer recognized by the building code jurisdiction of this project.Contractor shall be responsible for verification of all dimensions with drawings prior to start of construction.Resolve any discrepancy with the engineer prior to commencement of the work. Establish and verify allopenings and inserts for architectural, civil, mechanical, plumbing and electrical items with the appropriatetrade drawings and subcontractors prior to construction.Contractor shall provide product submittals for all proprietary products to be used, which are notspecifically identified herein. Submittals shall include product data sheets, installation instructions, physicalmaterial samples and shop drawings (if determined appropriate by the engineer). But for the physicalsamples, submittals shall be submitted as follows: (2) paper copies and (1) electronic copy. Materialsubstitutions that are not approved in writing by the engineer shall not be used.The materials and installation shall be warranted against any and all water intrusion and/or mold for aperiod of 3-years following the date of final completion of the work. All materials shall be covered by themanufacturer's standard warranty. The contractor is responsible for coordinating with the manufacturer andprocuring the written warranties for all products used.All work shall be completed in a craftsman-like manner with the highest level of care taken to ensure afunctional, quality and aesthetically desirable completed project. All work shall be compliant with voluntaryindustry standard guides in all regards.All repair details and the extent of the designated repairs are subject to field mock ups. 03 01 30.71 CONCRETE REPAIRConcrete work shall conform to ACI 318/318r and ACI 301. All concrete/repair mortar shall have a minimumcompressive strength of F'c=5,000 PSI at 28 days. Concrete shall have a maximum w/c ratio of 0.6.Repair mortar shall be SikaRepair 223 with water or approved low-shrinkage equivalent w/ < 15,000 ohm-cmelectrical resistivity with similar compressive strength and coef. of thermal expansion as the existingconcrete.Reinforcing bars shall conform with ASTM A615, Grade 60. Placement shall be in accordance with projectdrawings, ACI 301, and the CRSI manual of practice.Admixtures containing calcium chloride shall not be used.All concrete applied in thicknesses > 1" shall contain aggregate.Aggregates shall conform to ASTM C33, with maximum coarse aggregate size of 3/4".All exposed concrete shall have a 3/4" 45 degree chamfer to match the existing, unless otherwise noted.Reinforcement shall be held firmly in position with standard accessories during placement of concrete. Allreinforcing shall be chaired to ensure proper clearances. Chairs shall be plastic.Lap splices, unless noted otherwise, shall be Class "B" tension lap splices per latest edition of ACI 318.Stagger splices a minimum of one lap length. Splices in top steel shall be at the midspan. 09 24 23.13 DIRECT APPLIED STUCCOEnsure the substrate profile conforms to the requirements of ASTM C 926 to application of stucco.Stucco shall be applied in strict accordance with ASTM C 926 and ASTM C 1063 and the PCA Plaster/StuccoManual.All stucco accessories shall be plastic. Secure all accessories with foam adhesive or stainless steelmechanical fasteners.All stucco terminations or abutments to dissimilar materials shall be with plastic accessories with a minimumgap of 3/8-inch" to allow for the installation of a backed sealant joint.Wet the substrate to a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition prior to application of stucco.Prepare the substrate with a dash bond coat consisting of one part stucco mix, one part water and onepart bonding agent, to a pancake batter consistency. Apply to the wall with a gloved hand or brush tocreate a gritty textured surface.Do not use bonding agents directly applied to the substrate.Stucco texture shall match the existing. Where repairs are completed, existing texture shall be removed andnew texture shall be continued to the next plane change/ or wall disruption.Stucco shall be moist cured by fogging twice daily for the first 3 days after installation.Stucco application and stucco patching shall comply with specification.07 90 00 SEALANTSAll exterior sealants shall be Sikaflex 15LM or approved equivalent polyurethane sealant unless otherwisespecified.Textured brush-grade sealant shall be BASF MasterProtect FL-746 or approved equivalent.Metal to metal sealants shall be Dow 795 or approved equivalent.All backer rod shall be dual-cell.Bond breaker tape shall be as manufactured by Pecora or approved equivalent. Width, as required toproperly back joint.Joint preparation, cleaning and installation shall be in strict accordance with the manufacturers instructionsand ASTM C 1193.All disrupted sealant joints over flashings shall have the weep holes filled with Honeycomb polypropylenebaffle vents such as H-B Quadra Vent or approved equivalent, compliant with ASTM D2240, D790B andD128B.Verify compatibility of sealant or the requirement of primers with all substrates to be sealed with themanufacturer.Clean all areas to be sealed to remove all laitanceSealants shall be tooled smooth, straight and uniform.
