A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING BID
NO.2021-13: MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT FOR LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE AT THE
FOLLOWING LOCATIONS: ATLANTIC BLVD. MEDIANS, MAYPORT RD. FLYOVER
AREAS,MAYPORT RD. MEDIANS,AND CITY PARKS/COMMONAREAS, SUBJECT TO
THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, on August 11, 2021 two bids were received and opened for City Bid No.
2021-13: Multi-Year Contract for Landscape Maintenance for Public Works, and both bidders
attended the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting held on July 15, 2021, thus qualifying them to submit a
bid; and
WHEREAS,the low bidder was Brightview Landscape Services,Inc. with a total amount
of the Grand Total prices, including Added Alternate #1 only (Jasmine Street Ponds) of
184,908.00; and
WHEREAS,Added Alternate#3 for the Maintenance of the 11 medians on Mayport Rd.
north of Dutton Island Road will be paid for by the City of Jacksonville should they opt to piggy-
back off of the submitted price ($17,000.00)by the awarded contractor; and
WHEREAS, the period of the contract shall commence October 1, 2021 and shall
terminate five (5) years after the date of commencement, subject to annual appropriations as may
be approved for this purpose and included in the City's annual budgets for Fiscal Years 2022,
2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. The Contractor may cancel the contract at the end of the 3rd or 4th
anniversary year, without cause, upon six (6) months written notification to the City; and
WHEREAS, a total of $137,940 was requested in the FY21-22 budget in various
Streets and Parks accounts. An increase of$46,968.00 to the FY21-22 budget will be required
for landscape services.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic
Beach as follows:
SECTION 1.The City Commission hereby authorizes awarding Bid No. 2021-13: Multi-
Year Contract for Landscape Maintenance for Public Works, including Added Alternate#1 only,
to Brightview Landscape Services, Inc. in the amount of$184,908.00 per year.
SECTION 2. The term of the contract shall be in effect for a period of(5) calendar years.
SECTION 3. The City Commission authorizes the City Manager to execute the Contract
with Brightview Landscape Services, Inc.
SECTION 4.Notwithstanding the approval granted and other provisions contained herein,
the City's obligations under the Multi-Year Contract approved herein is subject to annual
appropriations for this purpose as may be adopted and included in the City's annual budgets for
Fiscal Years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
SECTION 5.This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
