A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH,FLORIDA,AWARDING BID
NO. 202115 FOR THE 20TH STREET DUNE WALKOVER REHABILITATION
PROJECT, SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, on August 11, 2021 one bid was received and opened for City Bid
2021-15: 20th Street Dune Walkover Rehabilitation project, which consists of
furnishing all labor, equipment and materials for the reconstruction of the stringers,
decking and railing of the walkover; and
WHEREAS, the total Lump Sum Bid price received from Hager Construction Company
was$167,850.00,and Additive Alternate prices were$2,375.00(ea.)for Piling Replacements,and
388.00 (ea.) for Joist Replacements; and
WHEREAS, any pilings and joists requiring replacement will be approved by the City on
a case by case basis, and a 10% contingency ($16,785.00) will be added to the Lump Sum Bid
price to be used for any additive alternate items that may be necessary during construction; and
WHEREAS, the total awarded amount for the project will be $184,635.00 (Lump Sum
Bid+ 10% Contingency); and
WHEREAS, the Contractor will be given forty-five (45) days from Notice to Proceed to
complete the project; and
WHEREAS, $135,000.00 is currently available in FY20-21 in account 120-6040-572-
63.00 under project PR2001 Dune Walkover Construction Improvements. Additional funds
49,635.00) will be added to the project in the FY21-22 budget to fully fund the project.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic
Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby awards Bid No. 2021-15 to Hager
Construction Company in the amount of$184,635.00 to construct the project in accordance
with the plans and bid specifications.
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the
Contract with Hager Construction Company.
SECTION 3.Notwithstanding the approval granted and other provisions contained herein,
the City's obligations under the Contract with Hager Construction Company approved herein is
subject to annual appropriations for this purpose as may be adopted and included in the City's
annual budget for Fiscal Year 2022.
SECTION 4.This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
